Vote for Cebu’s very own Blinky and Danielle to be broadband generation’s next icons at http://www.pldtwatchpad.com/watchpadcrew.
After a nationwide search that commenced in March and generated thousands of entries, the journey from anonymous to famous is on its homestretch as the top 10 finalists of the PLDT myDSL WatchPad Crew was unveiled online recently.
Two Cebuanas have made it to the coveted circle of young, vibrant personalities from all over the country and with Cebu’s support may just become part of the coolest crew in town joining the ranks of Rhian Ramos, champion drifter Alex Perez, Isabel Oli, Gino de la Peña, Viktor Aliwalas and Steph Henares. The top five with the most online votes will have a chance to become a part of the 5 new PLDT myDSL WatchPad Crew. Public online voting is open until May 23.

Carole “Blinky” de Leon, dubbed as "The Do-Gooder” is a junior in the University of San Carlos and a pioneer host of a well-renowned show. Bubbly 20 year-old Blinky, however busy she is, finds time for her interests. When she’s not in class or on cam, she spends her free time dancing, swimming, food-tripping and internet-surfing. Blinky uses the net for entertainment and to communicate with her loved ones.
Dani Miranda dubbed "Dan The Man" is not your average girl. She’s cool, funny, strong-willed and can be considered “one of the boys”. A sophomore in the University of the Philippines Cebu, 19-year old Dani slows down from the stresses of school life by shopping, eating and cooking for her friends. She also loves surfing the net especially to watch her favorite TV shows.
Rounding up the rest of the finalists are George Schulze, Mara Schnittka, Nikko Ramos, Goldameir Gamir, Arbie Baguios, Yassi Pressman, Paolo Villanueva and Jacqueline Milner.
PLDT myDSL is not just looking for the usual eye-candy as the finalists were chosen based on their unique personalities, love for the internet, and a passion in life ranging from music, sports, the performing arts, and even advocacies relevant to today’s generation. Simply put, these are teens who want to stand out and make a difference.
The new WatchPad Crew will also each win a brand new Sony Vaio laptop with free myDSL subscription for a year, a chance to be part of WatchPad events, campaigns and ads and P100, 000 in cash. They will also participate in the Gabay Guro program of the PLDT-SMART Foundation, helping change lives of the teachers and equip them with English proficiency and computer literacy training.
As the new faces of PLDT myDSL, the Watchpad crew will be privileged to represent not just a Superbrand*, but a status like no other—a Platinum status** that’s Most Trusted by Filipinos. They’ll be featured on the hottest entertainment portal in the country. Watchpad has 18 of the hottest channels absolutely free with every myDSL subscription some of which are not available on local Cebu cable: Channel [V], CNN, National Geographic, E!, PBO, CNBC, Cartoon Network, Animax, History, The Biography Channel, Crime and Investigation, Living Asia, RCTV, Go, Splash, Smart Shopping, TBN-Word, and myView.
