The 4th UPelikula: Lantawa. Paminawa. Pamati-a., now calling for Entries

The 4th UPelikula: Lantawa. Paminawa. Pamati-a. is now calling for entries for Short Experimental Creatives (5 minutes length or less), Documentaries (full length short films), and Short Film (Fiction or Non-Fiction, 45 minute or less) Categories from Filipino independent film makers - Students or Amateur film or video artists.


UPelikula 2015 Film Festival is one of the highlights of The University of the Philippines-Cebu Mass Communication Program (MassComm days) on April 6-10, 2015. UPelikula 2015 Film Festival is made possible by UP Cebu MassComm together with Paper Plane Productions.

From a school-wide competition, UPelikula broadened its reached by opening the contest to all students from all schools in Cebu and amateur filmmakers. With the goal of promoting Filipino independent filmmaking and to recognize our talented young/amateur film/video artists and hopes to be the venue to bringing Filipino Art to the world.

UPelikula 2015 themed “Lantawa, Paminawa, Pamati-a” is a direct Cebuano translation of “See it, Hear it, Feel it”. A school caravan will be held in selected universities and high schools in Cebu City on April 6 to 10, 2015. Qualified entries will be showcase during the caravan and an opportunity for students to be exposed to the independent filmmaking industry. The caravan’s highlight is the People’s Choice wherein students will vote for the film of their choice.


Prizes for the winning films are P3000 cash prize, a trophy and Certificate will be given to each Special Awardee in every category. The Grand Awardee for each category will receive a cash prize of P10000, certificates and a trophy.
