Y7 Pro has an expandable storage of up to 512GB via microSD card slot and 32GB internal storage.


Security and Accessibility
Y7 Pro 2019 features Face Unlock 2.0, a quick and easy to unlock devices using the artificial intelligence and the 16MP front camera, authenticating the identity of the user and unlock the device quickly, it lacks the biometrics feature such as fingerprint scanning though which are present in other competitor though, but the accuracy of the Face unlock can suffice and finger scan is a feature that others can live without.

Aesthetics and Experience
The Y7 Pro 2019 greets you with a 6.26-inch Dewdrop display with a togglable pearl-shaped notch (Huawei’s smallest notches to date) situated in the middle of the device providing a wider and more vivid visual experience. When held horizontally, Y7 Pro 2019’s back resembles a compact digital camera sending an impression that it can offer the acceptable smartphone photography experience at entry level class.


Feel and Ergonomics
Colors available in Aurora Blue and Midnight Black onto its ceramic back plate, which is secured seamlessly onto the metallic, matte mid-frame popular come on to the youth and stylish lifestyle, its back plate has a polycarbonate coating which provides better durability and scratch resistance. An Eye Protection Mode that automatically adjusts the colors of the display and reduces the intensity of the blue light, a TÜV Rheinland certified safety feature.


Mobile Photography Experience
It’s 13+2MP rear dual cameras can recognize 22 different categories of objects through AI processing helping the user to capture great images at ‘Auto Mode’, this is the default setting upon launching rear camera but let’s you choose more Camera modes when one decides to use personal preference.

‘Aperture Mode’ when you want to capture portrait images with user-dependent aperture level scroll vertical bar.

In the samples shots below, AI assist is ONn but the photos are not that so vivid using the rear camera but a little tweak using filters or mobile editing software could enhance the photo experience. But for me still an acceptable output from a camera sensor at this entry level class.

‘Panorama Mode’ fits well in landscapes or outdoor photography, just follow the instructions carefully to get the best panorama shot.


‘Filter Mode’ is changeable using the vertical scroll bar and other presets such as Sentimental, impact, ND, Valencia, Blue, Halo Nostalgia and Dawn.
‘Pro Mode’ gives you freedom on capturing your subject with additional camera settings such as metering, ISO, Shutter Sped, Aperture value, Focus mode and White Balance settings, pretty much the same settings in most mirrorless camera and DSLRs but you got to deal with the big difference of performance especially the lens and sensor used.
‘HDR mode’ when enabled provides ore dynamic captured image, AI assisted processing basically combining three images into one for improved color vibrancy.


‘Good Food’ suitable for Food photos adding more richer colours.



‘Document Scan’ ability to capture document providing straightening option for later formatting.

Though there are features that are on our ‘must have’ list, but these same features can be on our ‘Can live without’ list such as higher version Android 9 Pie, gyroscope sensor for highly demanding apps and biometrics access scanning.
