Stream Cebu launches its Pay it Forward Campaign with several Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects as well as updates of the completed CSRs in the past months. With Stream's commitment to their employees - providing personal growth and leadership opportunities, their commitment to give back to the community are also laid out with the help of their employees and partners.
In the first quarter of 2013, Stream Cebu had successfully conducted outreach activities with deserving beneficiaries like The Children of Cebu Foundation, Inc. in January; Celebrating Life February 2013 with Kythe Foundation, Inc. in February and Cuts for Cancer in March with Donate Your Hair, Inc.

Last month Stream Cebu was able to give back to nature through Adopt-A-Mangrove Project with Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation
Several Outreach and CSR activities are lined up which includes Post Election Clean-up, Medical Mission, Animal Rescue, Scubasurero - Coastal Clean-up, Pink October, Empower the Deaf and Diversity Pride that would be expected to happen for the first of 2013.

The Ayala Center Cebu Expansion will have an addition of 200 stores to the existing 450 stores of Ayala Center Cebu main mall and is expected to be operational on 4th Quarter of 2013. Premium foreign Brands like Gap, Mango, Zara and more will house the first level, including European Flagship stores and wider selection of staple American Brands with priced points ranging from mid to expensive. More hot trends and popular foreign brands will be found at the second level.

Ayala Center Cebu is confident to cater the growing spending power of its patrons and strengthen its position as the premier shopping, dinning and entertainment destination in Central Visayas.
IT, Home and Kids' selections will occupy the new wing 3rd level of the Mall expanding the tech zone offering more options and bigger hubs for tech-savvy lifestyles. This will also serve as the location for highly specialized shops for Kids
The fourth level will have an outdoor-setting chapel as well as new destination for Dining outlets with water features and Cinema.
The parking facility will be at the basement with continuity to the existing basement parking of the main mall. Three levels of basement parking with up to 884 slots.
Looks like another upscale destination to look forward at the Cebu Park District in the Christmas Season.

It was on April 27, 1521 when the Battle of Mactan took place in what is called now The Liberty Shrine. The City of Lapu-Lapu is commemorating the Battle of Mactan by a Re-enactment of what was believed that happen during the battle of Mactan every 27th day of April. A historical landmark full with week-long activities and Events.

To extend the celebration of the Kadaugan sa Mactan, the City of Lapu-Lapu is also giving the Oponganons and all the Filipinoes in general the chance to experience how the men of Datu Lapu-lapu celebrate victory through Kadaugan Street Party. A two-day festivities to conclude and re-visit history by remembering what the first Filipino Hero, Datu Lapu-lapu has done to the country.

McDonald’s is looking to hire over 300 student-crew/grantees in Cebu this year through Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) in partnership with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), establishing its progress and success in the employment of underprivileged students and out of school youth in Cebu. SPES beneficiaries’ responsibilities are maintaining the cleanliness of restaurant areas, proper preparation of beverages and desserts, and providing assistance to local store marketing team during events or McCelebrations held at McDonald’s restaurants.

Present during the press conference were representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Jessica Uy and Atty. Jose B Ogang; McDonald’s Philippines Vice President for Human Capital Group Chona Torre and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Fidel Magno. Each representative discussed the progress of SPES and its success rate in Cebu, key criteria for hiring and screening, and day-to-day training programs that SPES students undergo with McDonald’s.

Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) enables employment for the students in partner private sectors, where McDonald’s Philippines has offered over 3,600 slots for students to be crew members across the country.

“We at McDonald’s understand the need for programs like these – we want to help in providing a brighter future for the youth, especially for those who find it difficult to do so,” says Chona Torre, “With SPES, McDonald’s Philippines and DOLE are bound by the common goal of giving the Filipino youth labor opportunities that enable them to fund their education and have a more positive tomorrow to look forward to.”

In 2012, lose to 100 students have undergone SPES in McDonald’s Restaurants in Cebu, twenty-two of which are now undergoing training to be regular employees of McDonald’s due to their excellent performance. Each student will be with McDonald's for 52 days, earning the salary that can help support their education

McDonald’s Philippines and DOLE made their partnership official in March 2012, following Republic Act Nos. 7323 and 9547’s call to encourage students to pursue their education through employment. Subsequent to these laws is RA 8759, creating the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) to facilitate employment of the beneficiaries, located in capital towns of provinces, key cities, and other strategic locations.

This year, McDonald's hiring of Student Crews will be done in three batches starting March to December.
