'Twas a light Sunday afternoon at Ayala Center Cebu, listening to some of Cebu’s young entrepreneurs sharing how one can pursue his passion while also enjoying financial freedom in Let’s Have Some FUNds event presented by Sun Life Financial as part of its celebration of Financial Independence Month this June. Event's hosts by Sun Life Trainer and Pop District Bazaar host Jett Pe and Miss Cebu 2011 and ABS-CBN TV personality Mia Ali.
"Money after Graduation" topic is take up by Kaz Onozawa of lifestyle apparel brand "Rhipstop"; marketing and events agency "Spectrum; restaurant "Morals and Malice" & specialty retail "Common Ground" & "Fly". Kaz imparts to both college students and fresh graduates crowd the importance of College since its a good venue to create good network and an introduction to the "real world", so it's important no to take you college friends and classmates for granted. And when you graduate, graduate with a Journey in mind.
After college graduation, you may get a job right away or relax for a bit, you've been in school since kindergarten so you deserve to give back to yourself and enjoy. Get a job to learn and earn, an ideal environment is in the corporate since it will teach you on how to manage people. While working, when you feel you're ready to move up, you may apply for a promotion or move to another company that you feel will help you with your goals. At this moment you will learn how to make money work for you.
Don't be afraid to ask for a financial advice, consult a trusted financial adviser who can fortify your goals. Work with them to set aside a extra income for life or health insurance, mutual funds or stocks or bonds, in these manner you are making baby steps to make money work for you.
